Hey guys! Happy Happy New Year! We are back and better than ever. One thing about 2021, many things have changed and created a “new normal” and simply won’t allow us to return to our pre-pandemic lives. Something that stands out is the workplace, with more and more companies and employers going remote permanently even as the world slowly opens back up. Thus, our workspaces have changed and we are dealing with the aftereffects of that. Working from home has really changed people’s attitudes and expectations towards work. This week on The Black Compass, we examine the new workplace culture and how to manage certain burdens that we now have to deal with working remotely. We have to prioritize ourselves and create boundaries that will help us practice healthy work/life balances.
Episode Highlights:
- Managing inflated workplace expectations
- Creating work from home boundaries
- Examining workplace culture in a WFH climate
- Coping with mental health during the pandemic
- How to handle workplace burden placed on African American women
